Paint Calculator
Estimate gallons of primer and finish paint for walls, ceilings, doors and frames, plus labor hours and total painting cost.
How the paint calculator works
Enter wall and ceiling area, the number of doors and frames and the number of finish coats. Gallons are calculated from the coverage rate you enter, with a small waste allowance.
Primer is calculated at slightly lower coverage because bare surfaces absorb more paint. Doors and frames use a typical allowance per opening.
Labor hours use common production rates for rolling walls and ceilings and painting doors, and your hourly rate turns them into a labor cost.
